About Emily

My name is Emily and I am the owner/artist at Pretty In Ink Tattoos, LLC.

Art has been my everything since I could remember anything. I’d watch cartoons and draw the characters, eventually creating my own. Growing up the walls were always covered in art. My dad is an artist and so was my grandma (his mom). I always felt right at home with a pencil in my hand.

As I grew, I decided to pursue the arts as a career. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art History along with an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from Kent State University.

I didn’t know, however, that tattooing would be the path I’d find myself on.

Becoming a professional tattoo artist requires a lot more than just a pencil and paper. It requires years of hard work (first without pay) and an all-in dedication to the craft. I had to learn about sanitation, sterilization, blood-borne pathogens, and how to avoid damaging the skin.

In a nutshell it’s been quite the experience and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I hope the experience I give each client is one to remember for a lifetime including their tattoo.
